The wait is over!

We had the first ultrasound this morning! We're very happy (and relieved) to report that we are not having a litter. Rather, we are having one! And it looks remarkably like a gummi bear...

Anyway, everything is measuring on target and the baby looks healthy. We even got to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound, which was awesome. It finally made things feel real. And once a heartbeat is detected on an ultrasound, the miscarriage rate drops to 3-5%. While we're not out of the woods yet, we feel a little more confident about things.

And now on to the pictures! (Clicking on any picture will open it in a bigger screen!) The first picture is zoomed in a little. The picture beneath it is obviously not as close up!

And here's a little more of a close up of that first ultrasound picture:
As you can see, Baby Geib enjoys hanging out upside down!
I'll have my final appointment with our fertility doctor in exactly one week where he'll do another ultrasound to make sure things are progressing as they should. One week after that I'll have my first appointment (and 3rd ultrasound total) with my Obstetrician! That's right, 3 ultrasounds in 2 weeks!

Yay for a healthy lil' bean growing in there! So glad you got to see your little baby via ultrasound and that all is well.
