Benjamin and I went to the beach today, so we HAD to take some pictures. It was a little cloudy out and even drizzled for a minute or two, but we had a great time. Oh, and we saw a squashed brown tree snake on the road on our way there. (The squashed variety is the best in my book.)We had a very relaxing weekend which was fantastic. Benjamin made me a strawberry flavored heart-shaped cake on friday night and home-made waffles this morning. And not to get mushy or anything, but he had the sweetest letter waiting for me to wake up to this morning. He's really an exceptional husband and I'm continually grateful to have him as my best friend and life partner... and soon-to-be father of our daughter. :)
In other news, we heard from Bentley's veterinarian yesterday morning. The news was... fantastic! The radiologist in the states studied the electrocardiogram and chest x-rays and determined that there was nothing notable about Bentley's heart. (That sound insulting but is actually very good! In medicine, notable = very bad.) While he couldn't locate a specific cause of the moderate heart murmur, he also couldn't locate signs of cardio myopathy (heart disease) or congestive heart failure. He also didn't think that Bentley's heart looked enlarged after all. His determination is that the heart murmur is non-threatening and that Bentley does not need surgery, medication or a modified (aka, sedentary) lifestyle. Our veterinarian said that often in very athletic dogs, a heart murmur will develop and that it is really no big deal. They lead healthy, normal lives without limitations. He said that when he was a military veterinarian, he saw heart murmurs often in the most athletic dogs. Instead of not deploying the dogs, he deemed them healthy enough to serve and they lead lives just as normal as the non-heart murmur military dogs. Since Bentley is very athletic, this makes sense to us. We'll continue to monitor his heart over the years just to be safe, but we were very pleased to hear this good news.
Benjamin has the day off tomorrow (yay, federal holidays!) so we're going to take it easy and enjoy some downtime. We hope you all are well and miss and love everyone very much!

Glad to see you're enjoying Guam and your dog made it out of "doggie jail" as my daughter called it. I was really happy to read the Westin accepts larger dogs ~ we had to stay at the Days Inn which was the ONLY hotel to allow our 90 lb labrador. The things we do for our pets, right?!

Your photos look great and makes me miss Guam even more. Don't you love the Flintstone houses?!
